Default Intrax coilover HELP!

A question for you, Audi gurus. I FINALLY had my Intrax coilover kit installed on my car last weekend, after six months of sitting in my closet. I wussed out and paid 250 to get it installed. The kit is comprised of height & dampening adjustable Koni shocks and Intrax springs. I didn't know much about the dampening on the Koni shocks, so I told them to set them at 50%, all four corners. I had them lower the car to a two finger gap on all four corners and it looks great and all, but I have one MAJOR problem. Whenever I go over a speedbump, no matter how SLOWLY, as soon as the front of the car goes over the speedbump to the other side, there is an ENORMOUS, HORRIBLE, THUD! coming from the front of the car. The car is not touching the ground except at the tires. The car isn't scraping, so what the hell can that be???? Is this the dreaded bottoming out?
Help!

Default you must approach those things AT AN ANGLE.

what's up man. long time no read. =)

iirc .. that SLAM is part of your suspension components. an arm or bell housing or something. cant remember exactly.

the approach speed is not as important as the departure speed.

you want to go as SLOWLY as possible WHILE your car "goes over the speedbump on the other side"

that'll fix most of you slamming issues. =)

I never approach a speed bump straight on!
I can't imagine what would happen with this suspension if I actually approached the speedbumps head on. The car isn't all that low, but maybe too low for these springs? Also, do you think the shocks are adjusted too soft? Jasyn, what the heck is your working email address? My emails to you get bounced back (account does not exist). You trying to avoid me? <snif!>

Default hrm .. does the car porpoise going over uneven roads?

or does it settle fairly instantly? what were the spring rates again? the dampers MAY be adjusted too soft. gimme a ride.

hurricanesteve and a few others have adjustable koni's. dunno what their rates or damper adjustments are set too though.

what account are you emailing? -> mujomojo "at" yahoo "dot" com. i dont think i've added you to my "spam" list. =)

Porpoise? How does a car porpoise? If by porpoising you mean bobbing up and down, as it goes over uneven roads then yes, it does do that. I think the spring rates are : front, progressive 317 to 451, rear, linear 362. Handling is ridiculously better than the stock non-sport.

Default do you have a Neuspeed front lower subframe brace or DTS?

If so... that is what you are hitting. You may also be hitting the OEM subframe brace mounting points. They are the lowest part under the front of the car, so they are very susceptible to hitting bumps and such.

No DTS or Neuspeed subframe... I don't think the car is hitting the ground, though I maybe wrong. The thud is occurring once the car is over the speedbump and comes down on the other side.

Default Maybe something wasn't torqued to spec during the install?

did you take the wheels off and look around? maybe grab a few wrenches and sockets and double check that all the visible bolts are tight. If you do this, remember to check the swaybar mounting bolts.

I've never had or heard a bad control arm bushing, but maybe that could be the problem.

I hate suspension noise. For the longest time I was driving around on stock non-sport and everytime I hit a bump my car would creak like a rusty hing for the next few bounces of the car. Sounded really ghetto if I had people with me. Several trips to the dealership never cured it. Finally a Ken/Jasyn "special edition" factory sport suspension upgrade cured my problems =b
