Default 17536: System Too Lean + Loss of boost...

CEL went on yesterday -- did the searches -- Sounds like the MAF prob. I reset the fault code, and so far, so good.

The question is, since I'm chipped, should I swap back to the stock ECU, and wait for it to happen again before I take it to the dealer?

Or can I just swap the ECU and explain the symptoms hoping they'll find the problem without the fault code?

Can anyone else with a bad MAF give me an idea of how long before I throw another fault?

I would throw one about 10 - 15 miles after clearing it.

Default It will keep happening till you replace MAF, I just unplugged mine till i bring it to the dlr>

clear the codes, unplug MAF. The CEL will come one, but the ECU will use the stock maps rather than adjusting AFR according to MAF. Correct me If I am wrong Techies

I had the exact same situation just before my warranty expired. Took a few days to throw the CEL.

Default Been through that..it's hard to say when it will fail for good, it can take awhile.

..One thing for sure is it will fail given what you are saying. It's a good idea to clear the 'low voltage' code after you put the stock ECU back in. Even with the fault codes in their hands some dealers seen to have a hard time figuring out that the MAFS is the problem. JIM

And probably bitch about the wimpy car I have! ;^)...

Default Update: Swapped ECUs, CEL back on

in less than a day. Good to go in to service now.
