2002 audi tt 1.8 turbo quattro over revving
The issue I am having with my vehicle is over revving when free wheeling on an incline with no throttle applied.
The ECU appears to attempt to increase revs preventing the engine from going into a stall state. The net result is the revs continue to fluctuate between 1000-1800 revs until flat road is reached and appears to settle once throttle is reapplied.
I have been informed this over revving can be the result of an electrical load applied such as the AC but I can assure you this is not the case in this instance.
Other areas that note futher investigation are the spark plugs, coils, throttle position sensor, MAF, O2 sensors. Would appreciate any help in this matter from anyone that has encountered this problem. Regards Piri
