air bag sensor
I installed a new (used) air bag sensor in my 2001 TT. My previous one had the dreaded internal memory fault. The new one gets 3 codes...
01044-Control module incorrectly coded 35-00
00591-seat belt switch; driver (E24) 35-00
00592-seat belt switch; passenger (E25) 35-00
I cleared the codes successfully with VCDS, but they came back right away.
Is there a way to reprogram the control module code?

Does the coding in you VCDS look like this for your airbag control module?:

No fault code found.

I can see there are 2 #s different. I just dug thru my old paperwork and found a report with the old sensor...it has the same #s as you listed.
I realize that used is not the way to go, but they haven't made these new in a long time.
So my question stands...can I recode this?

certainly no harm in trying, you can always code it back to the way you found it, not sure what the difference between your new one and the ones ending in TA, that may make a difference. Any way to confirm what car it came out of, mine is a 2001

An update...I changed the coding from 10102 to 10103. I then cleared all 3 codes and this time they didn't come back.
According to VCDS, the difference between the 2 and 3 is the Seat Belt Switches.
