Default airbag light, again

I've read prior threads. My recently acquired 01 roadster has the airbag light on. Other than not being able to count on a properly functioning airbag, and the annoyance of the light, are there any foreseeable negative consequences of ignoring it?

by 'again', do you mean you have already changed the airbag control module?

Check the codes with Vag Com. It may also be a case of the connector under the seat being loose.

Default I've seen so many posts about this lately, and mine is on as well...

Virtually everyone that's posted has talked about the cold weather when the light came on. I know I put my seat heaters on when it's cold and I would assume many others did also. I'm wondering if the way the airbag and seat heaters are wired, or share something in common under the seat, that when the seat heaters are used it is causing this airbag light issue. I've tried looking at the wiring diagram, but I may as well be trying to read Chinese.

Has anyone looked at this since it does seem to happen predominately in the winter/colder months? Would it surprise anyone if Audi went with a less than sufficient part to handle those loads together?

Just curious.

The side airbag plugs in under the seat, as well as the seat heater. Check there first.
