Alien door opens

My left alien opens about 1/2" when I shut the car off. Is there something I can adjust so it stays closed down?

Again, I'd have to say explosives...

but that's more like getting rid of it altogether

seriously, they're activated by pressure from the Alien pump...That should not be happening unless your pump is pressurizing the system somehow..

Is there any way to deactivate them?

I'd like to just not have them come on because all they do is use water that can be better used on my windshield. S.F Bay Area cars really don't need to have headlight washers. No mud or salt on the roads.

You can undo the main disconnect, and plug it. Then no pressure will be able to get to the pumps...

I could image that they are held close by a spring, and the fluid pressure overcomes that spring to let it extend and spray. If the sping were broken, it would remain extended. That's not at all to say that is how it is designed, I am just guessing.

Anyways, in the photo, you can see where the aliens get their "nourishment". You can disconnect it there, or cut the line and plug it anywhere along the path. The line runs under the drivers wheel well, under the splash shield, and is about a 3/8" diameter line. If/when you do disconnect it, have a bucket handy to catch all the fluid, as the entire washer reservoir contents will flow out.

Or unplug this harness...>...

Don't know if there's a separate fuse...Check your manual as that would be easier. This plug is at the bottom rear of the drivers wheel well, under the fender liner. The bottom pump is the one for the aliens.
