ALSM Window problem
They don't need to pull the door off, just the door panel.
One big Torx bolt, and the rest releases fairly easily.
The hastle is getting then into the guts of the door, but they are trained to do that.
Kepp bugging them if it persists, to get the window lift motor replaced.
Are they still claiming this?? I hate it when dealers play stupid on stuff like this.
Bring your car to the dealership, tell them that the windows have BOTH been rolling down spontaneously, and wont go back up until you reset the windows. AOA has issued a bulletin to the dealerships, and is replacing the motors with different ones, that work. Apparently moisture is getting in the original motors and causing them to screw up. This is affecting 2001+ TT's.
The second bug has no fix yet, but be aware what it is:
When you and a passenger close your doors at the same time, there is a 25% chance that one of the windows will not "roll up" into the door frame. In fact, it will get "confused" and roll down another 1/4 inch. All you have to do is roll it up with the button, it will be fine. AOA is supposedly working on a fix for this, but it has to do with the central convenience computer, I believe. I have had 2 ccc in my 2002, and both have this bug.
Good Luck.
