Default i believe stainless steel, most of the carbon is removed so it wont rust...and it is denser.

because of the protective chromium layer protecting the whole.

I understand your concern on replacing the upper vs. lower. It is not straight forward to which one you should replace it all depends on ride height. I have spent countless hours on the alignment rack with a TT. I wrote the install instructions for the majority of vehicles. I have tried stock suspension, lowering springs from various manufactures and race style setups. If the car is stock to lowered 1.25" it is better to replace the upper control arm. 1.26 to race setups replace the lower arm and then put the lower arm on top if you have unequal control arms. I wanted to put all this on the Web page but was afraid of confusing some people. I will revise the web instructions shortly to include all ride heights and the best setup possible. I hope this has cleared up some confusion. If anybody has any questions don't hesitate to e-mail me david@customperf.com

Default WOW! Excellent reply! Thanks. I have only my own, one time experience to draw from.

Are these suitable for use as lower control arms as well then?

The stock arms (upper and lower)on my 02 Roadster were identical, so I'm assuming that Henry's are too. My intuition tells me there are greater forces of wear applied to the lower arms than the uppers though.

Great follow up, nice to see you are familiar with the tt and didn't go into flame mode right away!

True, but You have to look at ride height so you can get the appropriate toe. The rear suspension on the TT and R32 is very touchy a little either way makes a huge change. I will touch on all this in the new install instructions. Thanks for all the feed back it helps me just make the product better.
