Default Apexi Boost controller

Ok...I know most people go with a chip and that's the best thing to do blah blah blah...but I was given the Apex boost controller as a gift...so I'm trying to use it.
with the Apexi avc-r ... the solenoid only has connections for the waste gate, and charge pipe to measure boost. So, seemingly there's no need for the OEM valve (n75). This set up only allows my car to boost up to like 17 psi....any higher and blow's off and comes back down to like 10 or 5 sometimes going into limp mode....Right now the HVavle is in the intake, with nothing on the nipples for the charge pipe and waste gate....
The guy at the shop seems to think the boost cut on the ECU...

Do you guys have any suggestions as to what the set up for a electronic boost controller should look like for the 1.8T?

Default It is the boost cut...>>

The ECU is smarter than you. It doesn't have the fuel or timing maps to support higher boost. Chip the car and all bets are off and 25+ is very doable (and safely). Trying to get more out of a stock ECU is sort of a waste of time...

Just upping the boost is NO substitute for a well programmed chip..

how do ppl running MBC's fool the ecu and would that help me?

Default They cut out all the ECU determined safetly factors....>

via Diodes to trick the sensors, and NO it's not a good idea. Cheap Bleed valve MBC's also suck on these cars (mo matter what they say on Vortex)

Default Why not just go with the tried and true that so many of us have done on this forum with our TT's....

Why take the chance of damaging your TT.

Many, many of us have chipped cars, manual boost controllers, larger MAF housings, CAI, and larger fuel pressure regulators.

We have all gotten many miles of smiles with these mods and few headaches.

I applaud you for wanting to find something new, but I wouldn't at the risk of damaging that engine.

Default ok, so would that help? Having the MBC fooling the ECU as to what the boost is doing, and have the

EBC actually controlling the boost?

Default No more so than where you are now...>

The stock ECU will just not support more than about 18psi of boost. Read my install notes and boost recommendations..&gt;&gt;<ul><li><a href="http://www.modshack.info/bminstall.htm">Info here..</a></li></ul>
