Default AUDI TT MK1 ENGINE REPLACED

HELLO ALL,

I BOUGHT A 2001 AUDI TT 180 BHP QUATTRO AS A PROJECT CAR. IT HAS HAD A ENGINE OR AT LEAST A HEAD REPLACED. ON THE HEAD THERE IS AGU STAMPED. IS THERE A LOCATION ON THE BLOCK TO SEE IF IT IS THE ORIGINAL ONE OR HAS IT ALSO BEEN REPLACED. A PICTURE WOULD BE GREAT. ALSO IF IT IS COMPLETE AGU ENGINE WILL THERE BE ANY ISSUES OR CONFLICT?

Look at the Trans side of the block in the front.

All I could make out is something that looks like 113 the rest is rusted away. Does this help?

That number on the block is a VIN or engine serial number. A dealer should be able to research for you. If there is a "113" in your VIN, that's the original block.
