BAMM problems update

Default BAMM problems update

Yesterday I posted the following problems I was having since the BAMM installation:

1. Car had a hesitation at 4K aprox. 80% of the time. Very noticable when NOT WOT.

2. Computer readout for MPG(between speedometer and tach) was reading anywhere from 149MPG to ---MPG.

Problems found: After reading a post from 007TT, I found that some individuals have this exact same symptom (hesitation at 4K with the VW MAF sensor (#06A906461A). I have the VW sensor, so I replaced it with my OEM MAF sensor last night. The hesitation is completely gone. Last night, this morning, and afternoon runs were smooth as silk.

As far as the MPG readout. Below is a link posted by Russ Scott on how to adjust paramaters using VAG-COM that will bring the readings back in line. I have the OBDtool w/ the free vag-com software. I believe I will have to buy the full version to perform this function. Default been running a VW MAF now for 5 months with BAMM>>>

do not have that problem. Probably not related to the BAMM....could be your n75k with the v-dub maf tho....very spikey N75, would not be suprised if you put the vw maf back in with a stock N75 and the problem disappears....IMO....

I know its not related to the BAMM - its a compatability problem :-)

Default Why is this "BAMM problems" and not "MAF problems"?

no kidding: people - myself included - have had LOTS of VW maf problems; I've followed the posts, and while I'm not an apologist for anyone, you're being misleading with your approach - you mis-understood the problem, and disparaged an (admittedly experimental) improvement without knowing all the facts.

Default Because BOTH problems happened directly after the BAMM install.

and if anyone is going to install the BAMM with the VW MAF sensor they should know that this is a possible problem.

Also the MPG readout problem is directly related to the BAMM.

how do you know its not the N75K valve??? I understand that it seems to be running fine with the stock MAF...but if you switch back to the VW MAf, and install the stock N75, would it result in the same solution??? And if it does, how would you know which solution to be correct????

Personally, I am not a fan of the N75K and i believe it causes a lot more problems than most care to acknowledge....
The Boost Machine is a much better solution and is tunable...and in the end, it does not dial your boost way back...like the N75K.. IMHO
