I'm sorry this chap has had all the problems, but let's face it - it happens.
I had a Saab that I fought tooth and nail over. Finally, they gave me my money back. The dealership was great, it was Saab who was unreasonable. In fact, I've bought two Saabs from them since - they're wonderful. Mike Shaw, here in Denver.
I simply won't buy a car if I'm not really confident in the dealership. After all, it's a long term relationship. I have to tell you. I've read a lot of the posts here and most just aren't too complimentary towards dealerships. Kinda scary, actually. If I didn't love the tt so much, there's no way I'd buy one, due to the poor reports I've read about dealerships and customer service.
I did some investigating on my own. The dealership here in Denver is not too impressive. So bad that I called Mike Shaw, begging them to add Audi so I could continue my relationship with them. I talked to two of my friends who bought cars from the dealership in Denver. They too complain about the lousy service.
The first sales person I talked to was smug and even down right rude. The guy I'm talking to now is better. Still, I'm going up to Glenwood Springs and talk to the dealer there. If I don't get better reports from them, well, I'm hoping I do.
Seems to me like Audi has a lot of work to do if they plan on earning business. Lexus has great customer service, so does Saab. Sure, Audi has a great product in the tt, but you can bet it won't be long before Saab or someone else catches up. No product is so good that they can treat their customers poorly.
I don't care how good they think the tt is. The car costs forty grand and I didn't just roll off the tomato truck, falling onto a mattress of money. I expect value, I expect excellent customer service. If I don't get it, or don't think I'm going to get it, they can keep their friggin tt, thank you.
Back to this chap, he's got a lot of kahunas, putting up a website and bashing a billion dollar company. While I applaud his initiative, I'm hoping he doesn't end up with a big legal bill.
Anyway, my $.02 worth.
Cheers,
