I had my TT in for some 100K warranty checks, and the delaer loaned me a NEW a6 (62 miles). White exterior, tan interior (regardless of the 'colors'), 3.2L w/ the slap-stick tranny. Driving impressions:
- more competent than it looks. Avoidance maneuvers provided a satisfying turn-in, and no tail snap. Some ponderousness at the limit, but manageable.
- unique CVT tranny was odd-feeling, expecially at very low RPM on takeoff
- stereo is worth it. The DSP 'driver' position is lik ebeing there
- The MMI (the LCD w/ the bells and whistles) is pretty intuitive to learn, even w/o a manual!
- the steering wheel and seats are downscale. Seats had power switches, but NO memory. Wheel was entirely manual for adjustments
- Capacious interior, long legroom F/R
34mpg driving in Augusta, to Atlanta, around Atlanta, and back, for 455 miles. Not bad at all. I suspect inner-city would be murederous!

So, after RTB from HotLanta (recon), I got this!

- VERY torquey and willing 2.0L
- LOVE the DSG!
- SPORTLINE! (see the little flashes on the side)
- taught suspension, very un-hybrid-like
- fewer gimracks and gewgaws, and more 'purist'
It gets favorable comments from 20-something young ladys when I drove up to the local nightspot w/ the wife. "I want to replace my Lexus" was her comment. I gave her the key, and she came back 'smiling'. My wife gave me an evil look!

Aah to be 20+ and drive this around the ladys-in-training.

Humm...my dealer gave me a new Q7 for a loaner...overnight...twice...
it rocked! Size of a truck and it handled like my TT.

Yup! Very nice balanced feel. I rather liked it!
My wife didn't (human factors- she's VERY short): she liked the C230 Kompressor instead. Ah well, at least the C230 SS-K is Silver!
