BUSTED!
My real worry is the concept that now if I wreck my TT, I will not get the <i>original</i> suspension parts, but the "upgrades", against my will. This <i>is</i> what they are going to do. So much for voluntary. Drive carefully!
..at least in the US. We've already have people on this board talking about suing over a stupid emergency brake cap if I remember right. Can you imagine the exposure for Audi should someone wreck and blame it on the suspension?

Audi has stated that the problems addressed by the voluntary recall occur in excess of legal U.S. speed limits. Either it is mandatory or voluntary - not kind of sort of de facto if you need a repair job.
