Default CEL problem

I continue to have a CEL problem. The code pulled is system too lean. I bought a new VW MAF and installed it along with a **** and TTDA nad 4 bar FPR 2 weeks ago. Since then, the CEL has come on twice again with the system too lean code.

Any thoughts on what I should do next?

I brought it to the dealer before the **** and TTDA installation. Because of my SAMCO air intake hose, they would not look into the problem. I thought that changing out the MAF would fix the problem but it did not.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Default Do you have the DTC number? It could be a vaccum leak or the...>>

temp sensor switch.

Default they wouldn't look at it because of your intake hose? that's BS...

are you still under warranty? Bring up the Magnusson-Moss act, they'll take care of it.

Default Why would temp sensor switch ...

cause the system too lean code? I'll get the DTC code tonight. Thanks.

Default Not all 180's are compatable with the VW MAF....>>

I would order the Actual re-furb model...probably $80 or so....It's most likely still MAF related..

Default I have a 2002 225 TTR ...

Sorry, I should have given you all the info.

GIAC-X chip, turn2 pulley, boost machine, Turbo XS diverter valve, Samco intake hose, TTDA, ****, and 4 bar FPR.

Default I have also noticed that ...

ever since the CEL problem started, my gas mileage has been significantly worse. I used to be able to drive 350 to 375 miles off a tank of gas. Now I only get 300 to 330 miles.

Default Ooops....Sorry...VW MAF should be compatible..>>

But it seems lately with all the re-furbs hitting the streets, a small percentage are bad out of the box. Can you look at block 32 with a VAG? That would give some more specific info. Since it was happening before the ****-4 bar, it well could be something else. Replacing the $6 temp sensor would be a good place to start. Also power down the ECU (disconnect) to clear the adaptation tables which are probably triggering the CEL...

Default Temp sensor can be responsible for all kinds of erratic running......>

One of the major ECU inputs from which lots of settings to fuel, timing, etc are made..
