Check Engine Light :(
Any Ideas??
The MIL light can be triggered by a loose gas cap, get gas recently? Make sure it's on to 2-3 clicks, but it'll still take two days or so to clear once you fix that.
If you have a dealer in the area, or a friend with a vag-com, you could try to pull the codes that caused the MIL. As long as it's not flashing and you're going for service real soon, it shouldn't be something worth worrying too much about.
But why would the "service in..." message appear when I'm almost 7000 miles from the first service?
BTW, 10,000 miles is too long for service intervals. You should consider getting a good quality synthetic oil and doing intermediate changes and filters at your cost at 5,000 mile intervals between the free service intervals. You also need to find out if your dealer service will use synthetic oil at normal changes. If not, I recommend buying your own oil and giving it to the dealer service people to install at the normal 10,000 mile service intervals.
In any event, when there is a problem with a TT, posting at this site may give you some information, but the way to solve the problem when the car is on warranty is to get it fixed under the warranty. If not it is sort of like the persons who post on the Apple site that their powerbook is on warranty but something is wrong, but they don't want to send it to Apple Care for free service because the don't want to be without the computer... ;-)
