Default Check engine light is on.

The body shop that my car is at called and told me that the check engine light came on and that it has been idling really rough. I believe its the MAF. I just want a second opinion from ya'll. It has been idling rough for a while. My mileage is around 67K. TIA

MAF is a good bet, but a VAG-COM for the codes would be helpful

Default have the same issue... here's my story:

First started throwing system too lean error codes. Dealer replaced the MAF under the extended manuf. warranty for this part until 70k/7years.

2 days later my idle started being very rough. jumping from 700 to 1300RPM.

2 days later started throwing system too rich codes. Took it back to the dealer but they said it was not the MAF and that I have a vacuum leak. Then I took it to an ind. shop that I trust and they inspected all hoses and said I don't have a vacuum leak. They did the 60k service(haldex and such) but couldn't figure the idling problem. Next I can do a smoke test to see if they skipped some small leak. Also, I am thinking of changing the plugs and trying some of the other suggestions in this thread...

It has been several months and it's extremely annoying no one can figure out what's wrong.

Good luck, and let us know once it's fixed.

I.
