Check engine light, cannot read code?

Check engine light, cannot read code?
My 2005 TT Roadster has a check engine light on. Unfortunately it will not let me read any error codes. It sees it as a 2005 but that is as far as it goes. My center readout also has gone blank. Any thoughts as to how to solve this. Audi dealer and two auto shops could not get it to read. I once heard you can touch post and negative battery leads to reset computer, any thoughts on that. Thx

Still no luck, need to try to reset computer
I now have tried two more scanners (including OBEleven vag COM) and still no reading. Since I have had everything we can think of checked finding no problems, I now want to reset the computer to do away with check engine light) please advise how I might be able to reset.Thanks.

how did you get it to work? I have this problem too and cannot get scanner to read. Mine just says error. Everything is original no off brand speakers or cd players or radios added. I have had engine light on now for awhile. We removed the cluster panel in November as we were loosing lights on it. Car is in storage for winter and sending cluster panel in to be rebuilt this spring. Still need to solve the one scanner not working so wondering how you got yours to work.

Check Engine Light is ON. A few weeks ago, my check engine light was ON and dealer replaced the bad.
