Chipping & Exhaust
1. I am considering buying a chip for my 2000 180TTQ coupe... I will most likely buy an entirely new ECU with the new chip so I can swap in the original if needed when I bring to dealer..My question is how hard is it to take out the ecu and put in new one? Is it a difficult prpcess? is is easy to get to?
2. Can I chip the car and not replace the exhaust? Will this cause the engine to run too hot? Is a new cat-back exhaust a must have for chipping my TT??
Any and all help much appreciated<p><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/WaTTson.jpg" BORDER=0></a>

I recommend also getting an exhaust. You can get anyone you like, from a single pipe(Borla) to a dual pipe(Scorpion, Remus) to a quad pipe(LLTek). It is a personal choice at that point. I think each exhaust claims 5-15hp gains.
I went with a Garrett Stage II and Borla single tip exhaust. I think the Borla is one of the more quiet exhausts, especially at idle. It takes having the engine under a load to hear a difference over stock. The LLTek sounds really nice, the Remus I have not heard, just seen. it looks like a 225 dual tip. I think it might just be a muffler and not an entire exhaust.
The ECU is very simple to swap out. Once you have done it once, it gets faster with each swap.<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3285"><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/ttsig.jpg" BORDER=0 alt="Click for Mods"></a>

Now you are stating that APR has BOTH a 1.1 and a 1.3 version of a TT chip? This does not make sense!
Stephen if you or Brett are reading this, please comment. I know for a fact you guys lurk in here . . .what is the truth?<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=3285"><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/ttsig.jpg" BORDER=0 alt="Click for Mods"></a>
