Default Clutch bleeding

I found a pretty picture of the clutch bleed nipple. But the engine bay is too clean and uncluttered with no external reference points. I can't for hte life of me orient myself.

Can someone tell me how close (and in what direction) the clutch bleed nipple is from the brake fluid reservoir cap? What do I need to remove to get to it?

TIA.

Default its on otp of the tranny between the tranny and the block,.....

oh the fun....

its easy to get at, i put a hoze on mine, its not a fun process tho, as the bleeder is in teh middle of the feed line, not at the end of it, also the bearing is bellow thi spoint so air has to go into it, then be pusshed out by fluid, but the flid to push out the air gets to the bleeder beflor the fluid can go into the bearing...... big cluser fluzk!.... took me like 3.5hrs to bleed the last car i put a brnd new bearing into!........ way way way way un-fun!....... i dont think i have a pic of it, but is easy to see on the side of the tranny case. has a rubber cap on it.

Default Re: Clutch bleeding

I know what to do with a Nipple and making it bleed is normally not it, but in the case of the Audi, yes, a pressure bleeder (Motive) is great. All of the professional shops use pressure bleeding. Most recommend 20psi max so I usually use 15~16 max. The Mityvac suction vacuum pump works ok but pressure bleeding is the way to go. I am doing a new Slave on a Jetta tonight which uses the same Slave & Master cylinder as a non Quattro 180hp tt. I will bolt it on a bleed it, and the whole brake system (shares the brake MC resevoir) while I'm at it and be done in less than a hour from the time I walk into the shop. MGH

Default Here you go. Note 9mm wrench in place and hose plugged into nipple.
