coil issues
Anyone have problems with coils failing after an APR 93 ecu flash?
I had # 4 fail right after the flash. replaced them all. #2 went a week ago. put an old one back in. I think I just smoked the old one.

Poor gaps force the coil paks to work MUCH harder. Sequential failures would seem to be caused by something other than the APR...
Often after performance upgrades, Parts that were on the edge will fail. Common to need a new MAF, DV etc following a flash..
Are you sure it's coils failing or a Bad MAF, that will misfire/stutter in much the same fashion...

plugs are new, MAF is new, DV is new, VTDA is new, blue flame is new, braided hoses are new, fuel pump and senders are new, oil is new, timing belt, tensioners, water pump new new new.

Regardless of new, have you checked the GAPS on the plugs? Mine were new and were in fact the cause
of my misfires. One was gapped at 0.036". When I regapped it to 0.030", all my problems disappeared...

2nd! I went thru 2 coil packs last year on one day. New plugs gapped to 30 no further problems
My old ones were not quite out to 35 as I recall.
I do believe that higher boost stresses the coil packs. (just as wider gaps does) I backed my boost down to 19 or so after the two packs failed and ran the rest of a 2 day HPDE on the old plugs with no further problems. I changed the plugs and packs (4 new ones) later and found the plug gaps to be too wide.
As Steve posted, your recent remap probably just pushed some marginal components over the edge. I lost a MAF within days of chipping mine back in 2004.
