Default Coilover question>>>

Searching resulted is contradictions and confusion. Regarding coilovers for a 225QC, Bilstiens suck and H&R blow. That leaves KW and ABT. How do these two compare and which would you recommend? Thank you.

Default Ive heard from my bilstein source that ABT

worked with Bilstein when designing their coilovers.. He went on to say that parts of bilsteins coilover design was utilized by ABT in their final design.. As to which parts are the same, I do not know, but clearly companies do share work and designs.. Personally, Id go with KW after my experiences.. I wouldn't even chance it with ABT.. KW has a good reputation.. TighTT was telling me that their method of coating the suspension components prevent any chance of corrosion..

Default my H&R SPORT COILOVERS are definitely top notch - BUT you have to get the right rear spring

/\ /\ /\ my rear spring above is linear rather than the progressive design of earlier kits (which are noisy and apparently can suffer from coil bind)

ride is compliant and literally better at absorbing bumps than stock (probably combined with my sp9000 tires)

If coilovers are a must, go for KW, or the new rear spring designed H&R

Default I'm happy with my KW Variant II as well.....

Well designed, the coils have held up, and adjustment is pretty good. It is a pain to adjust the rears (have to pull one of the two bolts that hold the shock), but its not something you have to do often anyway.

Default FK highsport...

I have FK Highsport on my 225TTQR. Excellent ride, not pounding, flat cornering. And... I blew the right front strut and FK replaced it for free, just had to pay for labor. Can't say enough about Speedsport Technik in Norwalk, CT.
