Default Computer reset...

From last 2 days, constant, every first time of the day I start my 180TTQ, computer resets itself. I had read about it a lot before on the forum and seems it wasn't a great problem or anything. IT SURE AS HELL IS ANNOYING. I'm search for it in previous posts but if someone can save me the time of searching, it be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

Default You have an Instrument Cluster problem... (more)

The best fix is to replace it - under warranty - at your dealer. Be prepared to wait a few weeks for the new one to arrive.

For a temporary fix, try the "fuse trick". Simply get into your Fuse panel located on the left hand side of the dash board and find fuses #11 & #15. Ensure that your key is OFF and pull both fuses, wait 5 seconds, and replace them (make sure they are tight and snug).

Why this works??? No one knows. It is another in a series of small but annoying issues faced by those of us with this great but somewhat challenging car.

In any case, I would suggets that you show your dealer the problem prior to pulling the fuses. that way, you can have the IC on order because your dealer wil have "seen' the issue.

Sorry this is so long...

I had a similar problem, in that the time and date would occasionally reset to some time in 1997! The service writer at the dealership didn't sound too surprised at this, and immediately ordered a new instrument cluster for me. Although she warned me that it might take several weeks to get one, the call came in under a week. They swapped it while I waited, about 45 minutes, and there have been no problems since.

Default The Instrument cluster problem is a real pain

I feel your pain. I have been having the Instrument cluster problem since I got my TT (225QR). It doesn't affect my driving but it is very annoying when you don't know how fast you are going and the Nav system keeps rebooting. I also don't like the fact that I have to wait 3 weeks to get it into a service department and will probably have to wait another 3 weeks for new parts to get in.

I just had my insturment cluster replace because it died all together. They got the part and installed it in three days. It was painless and the car seems no worse for the wear.

Interestingly enough, I had that same problem with the date resetting. I didn't think anything about it, but now I know what was causing it!
