Actually I should edit my post.. because the same crap started back... even worse!

So I shut the entire thing down for 10 minutes... cleaned up all the file systems, deleted about 500 old and junk emails, compacted all the email folders, did a full scandisk and then a defrag. It seems ok now.... but we'll see I guess
