Default Debadging question

I am considering debadging my TTR. I want the car to be symmetrical and the TT badge and Quattro badge is tilting the car. My only concern is this "shadow" I've read about. Please explain this. If I floss the badge off will the paint that was behind the badge be a slightly different color because of any sun fading?

Any pointers? I got the car without the front plate. It's cherry. Now I want to make it discrete.

Default I did my black car after 2 years... just apply wax.

It seemed that the shadow on my car lasted about 2 weeks and now, it's totally invisible. If your car is newer than 2 yers, you'll have no issues at all.

Default heres an 01 debadged just recently

i used a little bug and tar remover on the area to get rid of any residue from the glue and did not see any "ghost"

you could probably use a bit of polishing compound and then wax the area if you need to even out the color,

Default Re: Debadging question

Thanks all.

The previous owner used Zaino religiously, so I don't expect UV fading, but wanted some input first. That butt on the silver TTR looks very smooth.

Maybe some do it for privacy, but I think it makes a better pic.
