Downpipe or Cat-back exhaust???????

Downpipe or Cat-back exhaust???????
I have just paid off my credit cards and am about to max them all out finally moding up the 225!!!
One of my biggest questions lies within the exhuast system. I am thinking about getting the 100mm Milltek cat, OR a downpipe (why does the downpipe cost as much as the exhaust? anyone??)
Does anyone have a comments on running either one of these without the other? Or even better, does anyone know where I could get a downpipe that isn't over $700? Thanks for your help guys

I was going to have the prototype 100% finished today, but car had to go to dealer because my rear diff was leaking, and my battery was dead.
The first turboback should be done sometime early this week, I hate to put the date off again, but I really didnt have a choice. Exhaust, functional drivetrain, and I decided a working car was more important
