Drained....
I've been killing myself the past 3 weeks trying to find a new silver/black 180 TT quattro with performance package, and audio cd system at msrp on the web. I discovered a few things....
1) The east coast seems to have more TT's than the west coast(or the southwest...I live in Tucson).
2) Many dealerships don't respond to e-mail inquiry's
In the end I think I will just sit and wait the 6 to 9 months my dealer told me it would take to get my car. It will be a 2001, but hey...it will give me something to look forward to. I just hope I don't have to put any money into my 96 A4....

Try CarsDirect.com. Got my TT180Q in days (more)
My local dealers could only take an order for a May build, July(ish) delivery. More in hope than expectation I placed an order with CarsDirect. They called me back in 1 day!! with the exact car I wanted 180Q, silver/black all the packages except cell-phone. Car was in Houston, delivered to a LA dealer 8 days later and I picked it up on Saturday. Cost? $250 over MSRP - which I consider OK for such quick response. Maybe you should try them? I found the whole experience very good.
