Default Drive by Wire comment

As I'm sure many of you know, our TT's don't have any direct cables connecting the throttle pedal to the fuel control -- it's electronically controlled, and fuel is controlled by pedal travel and rate of change. Anyway, despite my non-technical description, I have noticed some roughness in the engine upon a quick (but smooth) lift off of heavy throttle. The powering off reaction is a bit uneven and may be unsettling the car a bit unless I lift off VERY slowly. Anyone else notice this? Any thoughts? Another driver who was in the car w/ me thought it was a bit rougher than his drive by cable A4. Or perhaps the computer is deliberately powering down even quicker than our feet are moving, thus the characteristics were programmed.

I too noticed this although I did not put it down to the fly by wire, I felt that it was a turbo boost problem. ie under heavy acceleration if you changed from say 3rd to 4th gear the engine overevved before I could pop it into 4th. my feeling was that it was a wastegate problem or more precisely an ECU contolling the wastegate problem. It's as though it can't dump it's boost quickly enough.
Now I don't know if I'm changing my technique but I have now done 2500 miles and it doesn't seem to be such a big problem now.
I also wrote and phoned Audi UK who seemed to know about this, I also mentioned that I thought that the TT was over-sprung and under-damped, I notice that on my recall that they are going to stiffen the dampers no mention of reducing the springs, I think that I will let them upgrade the car and change the springs to something a bit softer myself.

Wastegate would be a good answer, but since A4 owners (even ones who have chipped their cars) haven't commented on this so far as I can tell, I was trying to spot any differences between the two cars. The one obvious difference was drive by wire. I'm waiting to see comparisons between the pre and post recall changes before I decide. I'm swapping out of the 17" summer tires this weekend anyway, so I prob. won't decide til spring anyway.
