Driver Side Window...it never ends!
I noticed my driver's side window wasn't working this morning on my way to work. Having to open my door to pay tolls was not very pleasant. An inoperable window certainly falls into that "must repair asap" category - so I wanted to get an idea from my friends at AudiWorld what they thought could be causing the problem before I take it in tomorrow for an examination.
About a week ago, I was driving home late at night and attemped to lower the window. It acted funny for a short minute by not following the instruction of the toggle but then bounced back and had been working fine until this morning.
Should I automatically assume that it's the motor? From past experiences with other foreign cars; a power window problem always seemed to be some sort of lubrication issue. However, with the luck I've been having lately with the car - I can't help but think it's going to be some expensive motor replacement. The car is a 2000 TT FWD coupe with approximately 60,000 miles on it.
Can I have hope that the repair will be nominal? Is it possible that it could be about lubrication? Or should I expect a hefty bill from this one? If it is the motor; any idea on how much a replacement repair will run me?
You all are the best. Thanks in advance for your expert replies.
Have a great day,

to repair it properly, its expensive...i believe, close to $1,200. just the basics will be around half that cost.
Man...if that isn't terrible news. So I could be staring down the barrel at a $1,200 bill to fix a flippin' window. That is just awful. There is no way I am paying that to get the window fixed. I could install an entirely new suspension for the same price. This is miserable.
What a terrible day...
