Driver's side window is stuck in the down position!

Driver's side window is stuck in the down position!
I disconnected my battery to install wiring for
my new car stereo system. Power was restored after finishing and I didn't start the car or check for full operation for 10-15 minutes. However, I immediately noticed that the driver's side window had rolled down about 2 inches instead of the normal 1/4 inch it always rolls down when opening the door. Additionally, when I closed the door the window didn't roll up. I thought it just needed to be reset. So, I turn on the ignition and first try rolling the window up; nothing happened. Then, I tried the down position and it rolled all the way down. However, it is now stuck there and will not budge. I notice now that the electronics is trying to roll it up/down (don't know which) when the door is open and the ignition is on as I can hear the solenoid clicking in the door.
Does this sound like a bad motor or could it still be a reset problem? I disconnected the battery a 2nd time for 15 minutes before reconnecting. However, that didn't change the dilemna.
I am now stuck in rainy Portland OR with my window down.
