Default DV problem

Sorry if this is repetitive, but I'm pretty new here.

I've had my 2000 TTQ for a little over a week and I've noticed a springy noise when I take my foot off the accelerator. Is this the DV problem?

On a somewhat related note, I also hear a faint but noticable high-pitched whistling sound when I accelerate; I can only hear it with the windows open. I was thinking its normal turbo sound, but I'd feel better having someone here confirm this.

Springy rattle sound on decel between 3000-2000 rpms = DV blown in 180s. Warranty!

The whistling sound is normal, but the other problem may be DV related...

This is normal.. the noise you're hearing is the valve doing its job

Default I don't think "the springy sound" on decel is the valve doing its job....AoA TBS issued...

describing this noise on the 180s as a failed DV.

I'm on DV #3. That's a pretty classic description of a failed DV on a 180. Have the dealer check it at your next service, they'll most likely replace it.

And, yes...DV #4 will not come from Audi :-)

1) the spring is the sound of your dv working 2) the whistling is your turbo at work. Enjoy!
