Electrical Problems Please Help

I have replaced my battery the other day. This afternoon the car did not work again. I had to jump start it. When I drive it works fine but as soon as I park it same thing happens. Please advise if you had the same issue.

how do you drive it if it doesn't work?

seriously.... check the battery terminals. then have the battery tested. you could have gotten a dud.

Is there a draw elsewhere in the system?...

If you have one of those fancy aftermarket hi-fi 8-track's, that might be the problem. Use a multimeter to check for current draw with the car turned off and doors, trunk closed.

8-track?? He's got a TT, not a Pacer.

Multimeter can also be used to check if the alternator is sending sufficient current to the battery for charging when the engine is running. Should be around 14v.

How do I know if there is a draw elsewhere in the system. I dont have any 8-track installed in my car.

Turn everything off...

Make sure the doors are shut, keys off, etc. Disconnect the Positive terminal and put a multi-meter between the terminal and the cable end. If you see any voltage passing between the two you have a drain.

Finding it can be a much tougher task.
