engine break in
I am looking for some tech insight from you guys regarding views on recommended engine break in practices. The manual says to run at maximum of 3/4 RPM and speed for the first 1000 miles. I understand that this is to prevent damage to internal components due to high heat loads and these heat loads if not applied gradually during early run in can cause the internal metal components to become deformed. I am curious what you all are doing thus far for break in practice. I have been having trouble holding back and only yesterday alowed myself to push it on a rather fast curvy road to the tune of 65-75 mph 46-4800 RPM max(third and fourth gear, corners rated at 35 - 45 mph) as well as 90 mph / 5th gear on some straight sections. Let me know what you think. ps: the car was extremely stable at 90 mph on a rather narrow two lane back country road!
