Engine Cleaner

Has anybody ever used that engine cleaner spray you can find at Auto Zone/Pep Boys?

I would love a clean looking engine again, but I'm afraid of spraying that shiz all over the engine.. out of fear that it would get into or on something it shouldn't.

Agreed?

use some simple green and a rag....

try to avoid electrical connections.

try to avoid large amounts of liquids in alternator and spark plug area as well

Brakleen in the red can works superbly for cutting through grease. Spray and wipe

try to keep it off painted surfaces tho, just in case. Some carb cleaners will bring the aluminum on manifolds, etc. to like-new silver color.

brake cleaner is hard on anything except bare metal...

I wouldn't use it on any other surfaces.

Simple green....1 part simple green to two parts water>>>>

spray liberally....use a toothbrush in the tight spots....and your engine can look like this....
