finally...

Got "the call" today :-)
Hopefully I should be able to go and pick up my Silver/Black 2001 180QC this weekend.
Been waiting since November '99.

Any words of advice about picking up the car?

Picking up car advice...

When picking up a car be sure to bend with your legs not your back.

Sorry... couldn't resist.

When picking up a TT be sure to walk around it before getting in, then get in the driver's seat. Please try NOT to smile for as long as possible. I'm just curious how long you can resist a grin.

A jaundiced eye...

Go to it with a sceptical eye. What I mean is, even though she's your baby, and you probably know everything about her down to build date and option serial numbers, don't let that blind you to any possible defects. I went to pick up my TTQ armed with all sorts of checklists and hardass queries and strict standards which would have to be met or by God I was going to tell them the car wasn't good enough and a you go get me another one without a little scratch here or a micro blemish there attitude; but when I saw her I melted, flat melted - and I swear it could have had a goats head nailed to the hood and I would have driven it out of there as proud as a new father.
