Finally! . . .

After much prodding, I was finally able to get my girlfriend of 4 months to drive my TT. Until last night she has been afraid to drive it, worried that someone will run into the car while she is driving it. However, after lots of bourbon last night, she was forced to drive it home as I was too intoxicated to even open the door. Now I just need to get her to stay on the gas to exercise the turbo a little more. 8^)

I know, I just wanted her to see what the car was all about. . .

Since she has mostly driven Subaru wagons since she had her first car, I wanted her to try something with a little more power and better handling. I still don't think I'll have to worry about her sneaking out with the car while I'm asleep. 8-)

3 years and 2 TT's later... mine has still never driven it

Actually, there was that one time, in a parking lot. I said, "Sure, you can try" Grind into second and up went the e-brake. "My turn"

I use the reverse-psychology approach -->

I have given my gf the spare set of keys for the TT and offer to let her drive it probably once every week or two. I think that this totally prevents her from driving it.

She knows how much I love the car, and she's afraid that she might hurt it. Aned she's not entirely confident in her ability to drive it well. So I figure that I'm safe, at least for awhile.

Now, if I didn't offer to let her drive it, she'd be insulted and REALLY want to take it for a spin, and then I'd be in TROUBLE with a capital T which rhymes with P and stands for pool....
