flashing CEL... please help.

flashing CEL... please help.
...under WOT the car hesitates and stutters. this has been happening all week with sustained temps below freezing. This morning it threw a bank 1 catalyst code (which is odd because I changed the pre-cat o2 sensor 10k miles ago)
On the way home tonight I got a flashing CEL under WOT ... I let off the gas and the CEL eventually stopped and went out.
VAG reveals this...
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 35-00 - -
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35-00 - -
any ideas?

I got a flashing CEL when >>>
i was driving back from PA in the mother of all rain storms...i think i built up some condensation after idle...car stumbled hard..CEL flashed then cleared. Misfire error as well...
New MAF went in and all was well.

car is garaged, but not warm.
it's been doing this hesitation all week. only tonight has it thrown codes... and this is the 1st CEL i've seen in a long time. and i've never seen one flash before!

see what kinda shape they are in...then coilpacks....

I ALWAYS get cel's at the beginning of winter - cold, damp >
condensation. Seems everyone here does, but never a flashing. Yours sounds like coilpack - thats the ONLY time I ever got one, and there was a recall on them, fyi.

do you tthink it's odd that I had felt the harsh stutter all week but only got the CEL and the dtcs last night? do you think there is a threshold for tripping off these things?

in my case, yes. I'll get the stutter, sometimes cel, sometimes not >
I'd go for a combination of condensation/moisture and now just maybe c-p; have you tied it to a fillup, or to an empty tank, btw?
