Having Ecu Problems

Yesterday i drove to school fine with no problems. When i came out to start the car the engine would try to turn over but wouldnt ever try to fire up. I checked the codes and got a Checksum Read Error that kept popping up as soon as i would clear it. I'm pretty sure i'm going to need a new ecu or have mine reflashed. Which one is it tho? I dont want to have to buy a new ecu if i dont have to. The ecu was bone stock w/ no chip on it, but i do have a giac chip that i was planning on getting soldered in. What should i do??

Edit: i hooked up a radar detector with a voltage meter and when sitting with the key out of the ignition it would ready 12v but when i turn the key to start the car it would dip to about 11.4-11.5, is that ok? I've read on the vortex about a dip in power causing this code and if u charge ur battery and reset the ecu and do a TB adapation it would work.

Did it crank "fast/normal" or slow ?? could be battery

It tried to crank right up, the starter fired immediately and the lights in the car did not dim or flicker. My subwoofer (basslink hooked to stock bose system) did make a strange sound even tho i had the stereo off. I hooked up a jumpbox to the car and tried to crank it off that but had the same problem. I can hear the fuel pump prime the system so i know its not fuel. I checked the codes and got a few, got a low voltage code, a ROM Read Error that cleared off and the Memory Check Sum Error that i would clear and it would come right back.

I've had the low voltage / check sum error before and it was NOT a ECM failure >>

when my MAF when out... Hummmm

Hmmmm.........

I've got 90k miles so it could be just about anything. Wouldnt a maf problem throw a different code assosiated with the maf signal being low or intermitent?
