Headlight Assembly question,....
Having my car fixed, and the repair guy tells me that one of the attachments on the headlight assembly is broken, and he wants 1100 to replace the whole assembly.
Question: Can I take a standard assembly and put my xenon equipment into it to save money?
Sorry if this has been answered before, but I searched the forum to no avail.

Unfortunately, it comes as one piece. Exact same thing happened
to me when I guy decided to reverse into my former TT. See the pic where I have it labelled "break"....my repair guy tried very hard to see if they could just replace the attachment pieces, but it doesn't come like that. Luckily for me, they had fixed another TT that had been in an accident. Insurance paid for two new Xenons when only one was needed. They replaced both and kept the good one. As much as people bitch about Audi, Norm at the bodyshop at Danbury Audi gave me this free....unreal. So, it's not really the Xenon inside that is the issue, it's replacing the entire assembly.

service guy.
Repair set for headlight housing -- installing
Note:
A broken headlight mounting tab can be replaced by installing a repair set. Complete replacement of the headlight housing is then unnecessary.
Remove remainder of broken mounting tab (1) at the edge marked with an arrow.
Slide metal nut (3) into mounting tab (2) from repair set.
Secure mounting tab (2) using bolt (4) and washer from rear at headlight housing.
Right arrow indicates the separation edge of an intact mounting tab (5).
Note:
The mounting angles of the lower headlight housing mounting points can also be individually replaced.
