HELP!......Again

Brought my 2002 225R into dealer for check engine light and erratic fuel gauge. They told me that a speed sensor would cure both problems. Not a half hour after I picked up the car the light was back on. I brought it back and they told me that I now need an instrument cluster. I had previously sent the cluster to BBA for the erratic fuel problem and they told me nothing was wrong with the cluster. The car pulls a code 501 from a standard OBDII reader. What can I do?

could be the fuel sender and relay.

search the archives...and find another dealer or tuner.

if the car is CPO'd>>>

let them replace the cluster...and whatever else needs to be done. If not, take it to reputable mechanic, as that is why they call the dealer, the "stealership"!

I would second that the Fuel Sending units might have gone bad....

that was the symptom when mine went bad. My fuel gauge was very erratic. I would fill up and right after it showed that I only had between 1/2 or 3/4 of a tank. Not sure what code mine was pulling at the time since I did not have my VAG-COM then.
