Default Help for a newbie turbo driver?

This will be the first turbo enabled car that I will own. Is there a forum or site that discusses the details of how to effectively utilize the turbo?

Thanks

Denim 225 Coupe due in 3 months (*grin*)

Default There may be an answer to your question, but I just drove.

I have almost no lag in my 180. I found out the thing that others call turbo lag I call "Wheeeee!"

I did notice more lag in the 225 than in my 180, but more power, too.

So my answer is: just drive.

Default This forum is as good as any. There's nothing you really need to know. All reasonable questions...

... will probably find an answer here.

Default Push down to go...push down harder to go quicker. It's very driver-friendly.

3 months? That will seem like most of a lifetime.

Worth the wait.

Default Yes, the force will be with you...if keep it at 3000 rpms

Must be the gearing also because supposedly there is good power at 2000rpms but I really don't notice it as much as 3000rpms - BAM!

Default Not a bad comparison...

My experience was that there was indeed a bit more lag in the 225, but once it kicked in it was more of a kick in the butt/back than the 180. Certainly not objectionable unless you're coming from something like an S4 that has no turbo lag (but whose turbos give up providing any extra boost to the engine earlier in the RPM range as a result...)

Default I agree! I love this place... It's a great resource and kind of fun!

There are opinions and squables, but there are a lot of altruists here too. Sometimes those opinionated people are the most helpful when you need it...

Everyone here loves YOUR CAR! Cause they have one...
