Was the 40k maintenance service performed?
How much rubber is left on the tires?
Has the original MAF been replaced?
It's a great looking car, but for everything I listed above here you're looking for at least $1700 in upkeep, tires, and MAF replacement(01's were prone to failure)...unless you're doing it all yourself, then it's probably only $1200. If anything, be sure to use these as negotiators. You should get at least $2k knocked off the top.
I still have a timing belt replacement coming up.
If you can get the carfax, and the dealer service records look ok, it sounds like the deal to take.
