instrument cluster problem solution

My total instrument cluster stopped working on my 2000 TT. I disconected the negative cable from my battery and reconnected it. My computer re-booted and all instruments returned to normal. Just lucky? I don't know, but it worked for me. Good luck TT owners(I love mine)

that happen to me too for the binary gas gauge...

that cluster is pretty voodoo if you ask me..

You can do the same thing be removing fuse 11 & 15, it has fixed my cluster every time.

They must be close to a recall.....

I think once you have a certain number of warranty claims it forces a recall....my cluster fried a month or so ago (did the whole reset to 1998 date and no gauges working), when I left it with the dealer it was returned after two days and they said they could not find any problem...funny thing was the big scratch on my cluster had gone and the spare key I have now sets off the immobilizer...? Am I just paranoid or did they replace it but leave it off the system so it wouldn't show up as a warranty claim??.....
