Now he needs to develop a design for that "surfing and mountain biking culture" like a replacement for the VW EV Camper which VW has cancelled in the US due to being brain dead. Come on Ford and give the "culture" something to fill this void. The econoline and Windstar just don't do it. A quality (not winnebago, etc..) built in the US camper, during a time when RV sales are strongest, which is garageable, would beat Chrysler/MB to the punch as they have a nice small camper overseas yet to come to the US.

Not expected since that is an abomination of the species.....
it's neither self contained in any way, elegant, etc.... Pontiac/GM made a gross error. I have more faith in the human species to develop vehicles that make sense and with proven vehicles on the road (30 years of VW Westfalias and the like) one would assume one vendor could do it correctly even at a high price. In a market full of Poser Escalades pimped out with 22" spinners and the like a $50k well done camper would sell out in CA and the west anyway. Airstream markets the Sprinters in 2 modified versions including a Westy and $70-80k+ but they are too tall. There is no competition. Plus the market is quite evident with all the land yachts out there. The issue is a quality base van to start with. Most here are not as suitable as the VW chassis (T5 as sold overseas). The 15" extended service van is a perfect blend of space, strengh for towing, and driveablity, all that fit's under a standard garage door.
