IPod installation using a dock?
ok i got my TT, and i found a perfect place for it. Dont know if anybody has done this i saw one person just lays it in there, but its the area where the gas tank button and other buttons are, the little storage area. I want to take my Ipod dock and install it in that area, then i can just put my ipod in the dock take it out. Has anybody Used the dock before in the car, most the posts ive seen they dont use the dock. If i want to use the dock, what do i need to get in order to connect it, and whats the best way you guys suggest, thanks for the help.

If you want the dock, you'll need:
a Belkin Cigarette lighter power source, a Bipes Adapter, a Radio Slack female power sleeve (receptacle to plug in the Belkin unit to) which you can then hide out of view, and some creativity to place the dock in a decent place.
Do a search on the A4, Audio and TT forums and you'll come up with some pics and install notes of people doing the exact same thing. I've never seen a TT/dock install, but I have seen one on the A4 forum. It's possible...

IMHO I wouldn't use the dock. That connector was not designed for the vibrations...
found in a car. My guess is you will destroy either the connector in the dock or the one in the iPod as the mass of the iPod is shaken over bumps. Use a docking cable like the Belkin or Jeff's solution.
