Default Keyless Entry Question

My battery in my keyless entry system dies about every month. This happens in both remotes so I know it's just not one remote. Does anyone else have this happen? Just making sure it's not just me. But who knows, stranger things have happened.

Default Mine go in both about every two to three months...............

Mine only has one battery, I think I saw in the manual where some have two stacked batteries.

Default Sounds more like you have to reprogram your remote... the battery last for a long time.

You might live or work around something that curupts your key coding. I know someone that had to reprogram their key a week after buying their car... they were on a Naval base and something screwed the program up. Reprograming is really easy... as long that you have two keys.

1. Put one key in the ignition and turn (but don't start)
2. Get out of the car
3. Shut the door
4. with the key you want programed lock the door (Physically)
5. Hold the unlock button until the lights flash once.
6. wait ten seconds
7. Press any button on the remote and the lights will flash again
8. Remove the key in the ignition (VERY IMPORTANT STEP)

To program a second key... follow all the steps above but on step 7, press the button twice to get to light flashes... so the car knows it's programing a second key... (Note: I haven't programed a second key... so I'm not sure if it works).

I hope this works for you... you shouldn't be buying that many batteries.

Default Mine goes every 3-4 mos...>

Then I swap batteries from other remote. Then I get more from dealer to replace both remotes. And I don't keep pressing the buttons mindlessly (they rest in my jacket pocket all day). This never happened with my VW remotes; go figure \_O_/

When I'm out of warranty, I'll just buy a 10-pack online somewhere because they cost about $4-5/ea at the only watch battery place that I've found that carry them near me.

Default Once a month seems a bit much . . .

I usually have to replace mine every 2 years.
