List of problems???
Anyway. I was reading a good number of posts that describe problems with the TT. Can someone list the more common problems so that I'm not surprised in a few weeks???
1. Bypass valve
2. 2nd Synchro/Tranny problem
3. CD Player whine
Any others?
Thanks!<p>Regards,
Bill
TTRQ225 better get here soon!!!
The most common problem for the 225 TT has been the Bypass valve, but that is also affecting the rest of the TT and Audi lineup.
Brake dust is a pain in the ***, but not really a problem. You can't drive the car through a car wash or else you will permanently damage your wheels, if you use car washes!
The rest of the problems that people have been listing are just small electrical problems that seemed to have been fixed or at least are appearing to a lesser extent in the 2001 model year TT's.
This wasn't a problem before the thousand miles.
This is starting to worry me as I know she's covered but geez she only has 1000 miles on her and I dread having to fix a problem already !!!!
Also, it may be my imagination but it seems she had MORE pulling power before the thousand miles than I feel now. Any body notice that the gears wind quicker as more mileage increments? I was told she is a sports car and sports cars are supposed to be made to handle being whipped into a gallop on a whim like any good "pony" car?
I really do love the car, and it might appear that I bitch a lot but I'm a little skeptical at the performance possibilities. But I'll put up w/ her (just like any relationship LOL) but I wonder why she's so freakin' erratic !!!!
BTW...I use Sunoco 94 octane, or Exxon 93 (if I'm low on gas and not near a Sunoco.)So she has plenty of octane boost.

The grinding could be an alignment problem in the shift linkage. The Quattro trannies DO NOT have a Tranny/2nd gear syncro problem. Make sure you are depressing the clutch in ALL of the way when shifting fast. That is the ONLY time I have ever ground a gear in my TTQ. It has always been driver error.
The reason is does not grind when you drive slowly is you make sure you depress the clutch in all of the way. Try to drive the same way when driving fast.
