<br>As per Brad's advice, and my own reasoning, the Lojack guys are stopping by in an hour for an installation. I just got off the phone with USAA, I save $15 every six months by having LoJack on my car. Yeah! Wonder where I am going to spend the extra cash? I paid $595 through the dealership, did I get screwed? Anyone know what it would cost me if I called Lojack dirrectly? I could tell the finance girl was getting a comission by my buying it, and I assume the dealer gets a bit, also. But $595 with no monthly charges sounded reasonable. I'll check the archives and see if Brad mentioned the price in his earlier post.

The price is $595 everywhere. As I mentioned earlier, 20th Century insurance is offering a $75 rebate, but only if you set up your installation through LoJack and not through the dealer. I think that there's $100 or so in it for the dealer, so there's no room for the rebate if LoJack has to pay the dealer. If they don't have to pay the dealer, then there's wiggle room. Also, the autoshows were handing out $100 rebate coupons awhile back, but I'm not sure that the offer is still valid.

<br>I suggest the squeamish not be present at the installation of their LoJack, or turn their head when things get ugly. Not pleasant watching the guy take your car apart. "Hey, I've never done one of these, I'm going to have to find a good place to hide this lil' bugger." They come to your house for the install, and my driveway was strewn with blue interior pieces, seat cushions, carpeted panels. Everything was put together good as new, he actually did a fine job, but I was a bit nervous for a moment or two.<br>
