Lumpy running once warm
Hi All,
I have a 2000 Mk1 Audi TT 225 Quatro. It runs fine and smooth when first started, once its warm it runs like its only on 2 cylinders. I have done a diagnostic on it and no errors, I have changed all 4 plugs and coil pac's, air filter, mass air flow sensor (had issues with this little bugger last time I had a fault), checked for splits/holes in pipes.when its running all lumpy it absolutely stinks of fuel.... Now I am doing a hell of a lot of head scratching... Anyone had similar issues, if yes i would love to know what the issue was.

EVAP system checked out and is fine, decided to strip down the top again and remove plugs for a compression test (passed with flying colours, not bad for a 25 year old car) when starting to replace the plugs I saw a shiner (damaged wire insulation) on one of the coil leads, on further investigation the harness is FUBAR all hidden by the fiber heat cover, shiners everywhere. Hopefully this is the cause of the issue I'm having (sure ain't helping). I see a lot of pictures on various sites and posts of TT's with the top cover left off, I guess this would help with heat dissipation, do I replace the heat wrap and cover or leave open??
