Default mod order

so i'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on my first mod, but i just wanted to ask if i had the 'progression' right in my brain.

getting the chip. go zoom. need the vtda to compliment.

get the vtda, but b/c you have the chip, get the whole stage 3.

stage 3 + chip collapses stock hoses, so new samcos.

complete engine mods with fmic. engine needs to breathe, so get exhaust.

lots of go, need to keep it firm, go suspension. coilovers ensue as does swaybar. compliment the lowered look with spacers to push 'them' out.

negative camber eats tires, might as well go wheels.

lots of torque-iness, eventually a new clutch is needed. while doing so, get new haldex fluid.

optional: 'flash, no go' possibilities if desired. can also go freaky and get the stage 3 from apr thus needing all new engine parts.

is this close to the slippery path of modding?

Default Yes, but you need brakes in there (if you like to go fast) and DEFCONs should (IMO) be added when

you do your coilovers (both require an alignment afterwards, so save one alignment by doing them together).

Default I'm puzzled...

What's the myth? That they do collapse with FF-intakes, or that they don't collapse with FF-intakes?

Default Despite the video..>>

Showing a collapse from years ago, it is just not likely given the intake hose was redesigned at least 2 times. The only reason it could collapse is from a created vacuum upstream. A dirty or clogged stock intake could do that. The OEM snorkel is pretty small too when you start sucking more chipped air. Any FF basically imposes NO restriction at the filter end. I did some vacuum measurements once from both a TTDA Cannister, and from the MAF housing after the filter and registered virtually no difference in measurable resistance...Just like those K&N displays that used to be on the counters of your local Auto Store....:-)

Don't forget the final stage. De-mod, sell all parts for significantly less, and sell TT.
